About

We built the contract review we wish existed

Revealr is an AI-powered tool that reads contracts and surfaces risks — so you know what you're signing before you sign it. No legal jargon. No hours of reading. No expensive attorney fees for routine documents.

What Revealr is

Revealr is an AI-powered document analysis tool. You upload a contract — a rental lease, an employment offer, an NDA, a freelance agreement, or any other legal document — and our AI reads every clause and flags anything that could cost you money, limit your rights, or create unexpected obligations.

You get a risk score from 0 to 100, a list of flagged clauses organized by severity (Critical, Warning, Info), a plain-English explanation of what each clause means, and a specific recommended action for each flag. The full report is downloadable as a PDF and sent to your email.

Most analyses complete in under 60 seconds. The preview is free. The full report is $19 — one-time, no subscription.

What Revealr is not

Not a law firm

Revealr is a software tool, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, and using Revealr does not create an attorney-client relationship. Our analysis is informational.

Not jurisdiction-specific

Our AI flags clauses that deviate from common standards, but it does not know your state's specific tenant protection law, employment statutes, or local regulations. Research enforceability in your jurisdiction.

Not a substitute for an attorney

For high-value agreements, complex disputes, or contracts with unusual terms, consulting a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction remains the right move. Revealr helps you prepare for that conversation.

Not infallible

AI analysis can miss nuanced language, jurisdiction-specific exceptions, or context that changes how a clause should be interpreted. We recommend treating our output as a thorough first draft, not a final opinion.

How we handle your documents

Your document is encrypted in transit using TLS. It is stored temporarily only to generate your analysis, and deleted from our servers after the report is complete. We do not share your documents with third parties, and we do not use your documents to train AI models.

We use industry-standard cloud infrastructure (Vercel) for hosting and storage. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

The problem we're solving

Most people sign contracts they haven't fully understood. A residential lease is 12–20 pages of legal language. An employment contract can contain non-compete clauses, IP assignments, and arbitration provisions that affect your career for years. An NDA might include restrictions far beyond what the situation warrants.

Getting a lawyer to review a routine contract costs $200–$500+ per hour — more than most contracts are worth individually. So most people skip it and hope for the best.

Revealr exists in the middle: faster and broader than manual reading, much cheaper than professional review, and designed to get you to the information you need quickly enough to actually use it before you sign.

Who's behind Revealr

Revealr was built by a small team with backgrounds in software engineering and contract law. We've personally experienced the frustration of signing documents we didn't fully understand — a lease clause that cost a security deposit, an employment contract with an IP assignment that was broader than expected, an NDA with no expiration date. Revealr came out of that frustration.

We are not a law firm. Our team does not include licensed attorneys acting in a client capacity. What we do have is deep familiarity with how standard contracts are structured, what deviates from the norm, and what the most common risks are across lease, employment, NDA, freelance, and purchase agreement categories.

Our AI analysis pipeline is built on Claude (Anthropic), one of the most capable large language models for legal document understanding. The model is guided by a detailed system prompt developed and refined against 300+ real contract documents across lease, employment, NDA, freelance, and purchase agreement categories, spanning multiple U.S. states and international jurisdictions.

Our methodology

Revealr's analysis model was developed and tested against 300+ real contract documents across lease, employment, NDA, freelance, and purchase agreement categories, spanning multiple U.S. states and international jurisdictions.

Each document type has a tailored analysis framework: the clauses we check for a residential lease differ from those we evaluate in an employment contract or NDA. Risk flags are calibrated against common legal standards, court-tested norms, and the specific provisions that most frequently lead to financial disputes or legal exposure for non-lawyer signers.

Editorial standards

All risk flags and explanations are reviewed against standard contract law principles. Revealr does not provide legal advice — it provides structured analysis to help non-lawyers understand what they are signing.

01

Research & drafting

Each article is researched using primary legal sources, court case summaries, and common contract language from real agreements. We cross-reference multiple jurisdictions where clauses vary significantly by region.

02

Editorial review

Before publication, every article is reviewed by a member of the Revealr editorial team for factual accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current legal standards. Misleading generalizations are removed.

03

Ongoing updates

Legal standards and common contract practices change. We review and update articles when laws change, when readers flag inaccuracies, or when new case law affects the guidance we give.

Revealr is an AI-powered document analysis tool. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. For complex or high-stakes agreements, always consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

Important: All content on Revealr — including blog articles, guides, and AI-generated analyses — is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. If you have questions about a specific contract or legal situation, consult a qualified attorney.
